I am absolutely fascinated by the study of equine conformation. I have read oodles of books on the subject and have even paid professionals to come to my ranch and teach me using my own animals. All of this has been really helpful but it is possible to take things one step further.

Cindy lives in Gold Hill, Oregon with her husband Mitch and their large animal family. They currently raise Miniature Donkeys and miniature cows, but have extensive experience with many other types of livestock. They currently own Miniature Donkeys, miniature cows, a pet Yak, Belgium draft mules, and several horses including Cindy's Haflingers.
Cindy is facinated by the study of genetics and has ample opportunity to hone her skills with their 100+ herd of donkeys. Her husband is an equine veternarian and that can come in handy! She has been a horsewoman since she was a small child and has experience with hunter/jumpers, driving, endurance riding, and wilderness pack trips.

Caliente' And The Gate
I had a situation happen recently here at the ranch that I would not have thought was possible. My adult jack Caliente' got his head stuck between the gate and the post it is latched to and proceeded to hang himself. If I had not been blessed the arrival of my son to help me I would have lost him. Here is my story.

May The Force Be With You
I have had the privilege of living with Miniature Donkeys for the past 20 years. I love to watch the language they use with each other. It can be so subtle. Horses in a social situation can be explosive in that they will sometimes squeal, spin and kick with both hind feet, bite, etc to assert their dominance over each other.

The Horse Slaughter Issue - Shades Of Gray
This issue is emotionally loaded for most people; myself included. I would move heaven and earth to be sure that no animal in my care ever suffered this fate. I would rather eat salad forever than have to consume horse meat, and I would never forget the images I would see if I were to visit an equine slaughter facility.
