Meggie always loved horses and grew up riding recreationally. After many troubling experiences with horses, Meggie knew there had to be a better way to handle horses. After seeing what Pat and Linda Parelli could do with horses at a tour stop in Michigan, Meggie was hooked. She spent the next year taking clinics with 5* Instructor Carol Coppinger, and studying at home with her first partner, Jack.
After passing her Level 1, Meggie decided it was time for more information. In 2006, she signed up for 4 weeks of courses at the Parelli™ Center in Colorado learning and growing, and realized she couldn’t leave, and stayed for another 2 weeks.
For the next two years, Meggie continued her horsemanship journey, while finishing her education at The University of Michigan. After graduating from college with a BA, Meggie decided she wanted to pursue her career in the horse world. She found a Therapeutic Riding Center that used Parelli™ Principles, and applied to be an instructor. For the next year, Meggie spent her time teaching both handicapped and able-bodied horsemanship lessons. She also had the time to play with the 14 very special horses that make everything possible at the TR Center.
