Horse Community Journals Inc. is pleased to announce the release of the 2011 Equine Consumers’ Guide, which made its debut at The Mane Event in Red Deer, Alberta on April 29, 2011. An annual source guide of Canadian Horse Journal, the Equine Consumers’ Guide is “Canada’s horse industry at your fingertips,” featuring hands-on, practical information for Canada’s horse people.

The 2011 edition includes a variety of special features and reference guides to keep readers returning to the ECG’s pages throughout the year. Article topics include Horse Insurance, Equine Behaviour, Horse Senses, Safety, Horse Racing in Transition, and a profile of North America’s top apprentice jockey, Omar Moreno. The Marketplace is a one-stop guide to thousands of products, services, and breeders.

Together with The Right Stuff, an impressive collection of the latest products for horse, human, and stable, the ECG helps horse people make informed purchasing decisions in today’s economy. Rounding out the reader favourites are the Education Handbook and Holiday on Horses Handbook, specially created to help those looking for a career in the horse industry or a riding vacation.

The ECG2011 also features the 14 winners of the second annual Readers’ Choice Awards. Celebrating excellence in Canada’s horse industry, the 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards recognizes horses, horse people, and businesses for their achievements and contributions to Canada’s horse community. Special thanks to the Prize Sponsors of the Readers’ Choice Awards: Blue Creek Outfitting, The Bitten Store, Bucas, Bit Blanket, Alex Milne Associates, Horse ManUwear, and The Innovative Horsekeeper.
