The last quarantines for Equine Herpes Virus-1 at the Cornell Equine Research Park and the Annex will be lifted on April 19, 2011, according to Michael Kotlikoff, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine. The lifting of the quarantine at the Cornell University Hospital occurred on April 12.

According to him, the quarantines at the Equine Research Park and the Annex lasted longer because it was not feasible or cost effective to check twice daily for elevations in body temperatures in those animals.
