Growing up near Chicago, April Raine campaigned successfully in both equitation and hunter divisions as a junior rider with noted trainer Kim Gardiner of Perfecta Farm. A recipient of the Illinois Hunter Jumper Association Scholarship., April graduated with honors from the Art Institute. While attending school, April remained active in the industry, managing equine facilities, training horses, and providing lessons in the Northwest Chicago area.

Her work has been featured in the International Museum of the Horse, a Smithsonian Affiliate, and she is the winner of numerous American Horse Publications’ Awards. Most recently, her work was featured in the main program and all discipline programs for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
