Stars and Stripes Summer Spectacular—a full day show for equestrians with disabilities

On Tuesday, June 28, 2016, the Appaloosa Horse Club will join forces with the American Paint Horse Association to host the very first Stars and Stripes Summer Spectacular — a full day show for equestrians with disabilities.

The very first Stars & Stripes Summer Spectacular will take place alongside the 69th National Championship Appaloosa Show and 2016 Youth World Show this summer! On Tuesday, June 28th the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) will join forces with the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) to host the very first Stars & Stripes Summer Spectacular—a full day show for equestrians with disabilities.

This event will be held in the WR Watt Arena and boasts 22 classes for both supported and independent riders, as well as a special division for disabled veterans! The class roster for this thrilling new event is as follows:

  • Veterans Independent Walk-Only Horsemanship/Equitation
  • Supported W/J Western Horsemanship
  • Veterans Independent W/J Western Horsemanship
  • Independent W/J Western Horsemanship
  • Independent W/J/L Western Horsemanship
  • Veterans Independent W/J/L Western Horsemanship
  • Independent W/J Para Reining
  • Independent W/J/L Para Reining
  • Independent W/T/C Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat
  • Supported W/T Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat

Champions of each class will receive a champion jacket by Tioga Territory as well as a beautifully crafted Montana Silversmiths belt buckle. Reserve Champions will receive a Reserve Champion Montana Silversmiths belt buckle, and ribbons will be awarded to the top ten exhibitors in each class.

The Stars & Stripes Summer Spectacular is open to all breeds. Exhibitors are required to be members of ApHC or APHA. Many of the classes featured in the event are dual-approved by ApHC, APHA and/ or NSBA.  Stalls for this event are free for horses only participating in the Stars & Stripes Summer Spectacular thanks to sponsorship dollars. May 27th is the stall reservation deadline and entries for the event are due by June 3, 2016.
