Description

Rx symbolCorticosporin is a topical solution that is a combination product with two antibiotic agents, neomycin sulfate and  polymyxin B sulfate, and an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid .

Usage

Corticosporin is used to treat certain ear infections.

Side Effects

Rarely, redness, irritation, or swelling of the ear may occur. Corticosporin has been known to occasionally cause temporary deafness.

Precautions

Corticosporin should not be used in horses that are hypersensitive to any of its ingredients. Before corticosporin is used, a veterinarian should check to make sure the ear drum of the horse is intact.

Corticosporin is a prescription drug. U. S. federal law restricts this drug to use by or on the lawful written or oral order of a licensed veterinarian.

Corticosporin would be prohibited in drug free competitions. Check with the proper regulatory group.

Interactions

Corticosporin should not be used with other ear preparations unless prescribed by a veterinarian.

Overdose

Overdose may result in more severe side effects mentioned above.
