The Paint Horse Journal, the association’s official publication, sponsored a photo contest where over 600 photos were submitted for consideration. Voting was held at the association’s international headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, and winners were selected by a panel of judges based on a strict set of criteria.

APHA would like to congratulate the winners of its 2013 Calendar Photo Contest:

  • Amy Alford, Madison, Miss
  • Anna Bishop, Wetumpka, Ala
  • Doug Carpenter, Sulphur, Okla
  • Kimberly Estrada, Granada Hills, Calif
  • Meg Frederick, St. Louis, Mo
  • Rachel Gunnerson, Rodeo, Calif
  • Lorie Hager, Kerrville, Texas
  • Amelia Johnson, Cloquet, Minn.
  • Sherry Marx, Prescott Valley, Ariz
  • Megan Mulqueen, Frisco, Colo.

With so many impressive entries, a poster was also created to showcase the one hundred-plus photos that advanced to the semifinal round of the contest. The complimentary poster is packaged along with each calendar.
