Giving more horses a lifeline - As a trail horse

Join the American Competitive Trail Rider Association and finally find YOUR way to fruitfully participate in the largest segment of the horse industry, the pleasure rider.

With over 30,000 horses registered with ACTHA, records prove that almost 10% of the registry comprises horses that “were” idle. They came from rescues, fallow pastures, rehabilitated mustangs, thoroughbreds as well as auctions destined for an ill fate.

“This finally gives us a target says Rob Butler who heads up ACTHA’s IT department, the cornerstone of the ACTHA system. “ Extrapolating from this we can deduce to employ the approximate 100,000 horses on the sidelines the competitive trail industry can make its presence known by increasing the combined registries of all our sister organizations as well as ACTHA’S and grow by one million participants.

While it is not reasonable to assume that ACTHA can accomplish this on its own, now that we have the partnerships of the giants like AQHA, APHA, AERC as well as most regional competitive trail organizations this is indeed a reachable goal.”

Where’s the “investment” angle you might ask? If you accept that a horse in competition is responsible for another $200 per month spent by its owner in feeds, supplements, tack, clothing, medals, dues and memberships as well as everything from travel clubs to make up to look good for the judges, $200 is a very reasonable number.

If one accepts that the successful accomplishment of this goal would introduce another $2.4 billion dollars into the industry…how we all could use that.

So support ACTHA and our other nonprofit partners. To see a list simply go to www.actha/us/medals.

All the organizations listed contribute and participate in ACTHA’s wonder medals recognition programs as shown. Join us and finally find YOUR way to fruitfully participate in the largest segment of the horse industry, the pleasure rider.
