It's amazing to us that what took us 5 years to accomplish with our Competitive Trail Challenges has been eclipsed by our new product the ACTHA Obstacle Challenge in one year!

American Competitive Trail Horse Obstacle Challenge creates days of fun and brings in money for rescues and charities.

What started out as an answer to year round income for our hosts and charities by providing a venue allowing indoor arenas and shaded areas as the playing field, has now caught up with the number of Competitive Trail Challenges we hold.

Our GAMBLER's Choice format provides an almost game show like environment where riders who gamble get cheered on and those who play it close to the vest are jeered. But at the end of the day fun is had by all and money flows to rescues and charities.

The growth in AOCs has dictated that we step up our rewards for the riders. And once again our wonderful sponsors have answered the call.

Besides ACTHA giving winners in each division valuable ACTHA Bucks (good an all ACTHA shopping sponsors) and more and bigger ribbons courtesy of Hodges Badge, we can also add  a "StepNSoak" Hoof Soaking Traveling Boot to be won at each event, samples of great products from Espree for both their fly spray and shampoo, free online store visits to Paul's Pet Products where any canine product is theirs FREE with free shipping thrown in!

Paul's has raised the bar even higher by making this prize available to every open, pleasure and JUNIOR winner. After all every ACTHA horse has a dog, or six. Next Colorful Manes and Tails has entered the AOC arena with gifts for Junior competitors. Lastly ACTHA's newest sponsor Horse Quencher will be providing product to every event! No horse will go home thirsty.

American Competitive Trail Horse Association

ACTHA is based near Austin Texas and for 5 years has been following the below mission. To create an enjoyable venue showcasing the wonderful attributes of the great American trail horse and granting them the recognition they so richly deserve. To create a registry open to all breeds and a point designation system which will stay with each horse for its lifetime, thereby adding to their value and distinction. To create and enable humane treatment options and employment for horses in need.
