Host committee chairs Mary Guynn and Katie Roth will provide the welcome remarks, while Brooke USA’s founding chairman, Dr. David Jones will give a compelling presentation on how the organization helps the very poor families who depend on their working equines to make a living.

Taking place at the Stable View Pavilion and starting at 11.00 a.m., on a first-come, first-serve basis, make-up artist to leading athletes and celebrities, Leslie Munsell of Beauty For Real will offer mini-makeovers. Doors open at 11.30 a.m. with a welcome glass of bubbly followed by a buffet lunch catered by Cal Berry.

The presentation will start punctually at noon. Guests will also have the opportunity to support Brooke USA through an auction and raffle of local and equestrian items.

Riders, owners, trainers and horse enthusiasts are welcome to attend the complimentary and exciting event. With capacity for no more than 100 people, it is imperative that attendees RSVP promptly to guarantee a seat at the luncheon. To RSVP, please visit www.BrookeUSAAiken.eventbrite.com.

The Lunch & Learn constitutes the first time Brooke USA appeals to the Aiken equestrian community and makes strides toward building awareness in the area for the national nonprofit. Brooke USA is focused on significantly improving the welfare of working horses, donkeys and mules and the people they serve throughout Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas and the Caribbean by raising funds and responsibly directing them to the areas of greatest need.

Brooke USA does this through a holistic approach to funding which includes capacity building, sustainability programming, female empowerment and international advocacy. Brooke USA connects private philanthropists with their passion for helping relieve the suffering of working equines and their owners.

Emily Dulin, Executive Director of Brooke USA, explained that the Lunch & Learn is the first engagement to take place in Aiken and that over the next year, the organization plans on becoming a presence in the area with the idea of launching in 2021 Paint Aiken Orange, a promotional, awareness and fundraising campaign to further engage the Aiken community with Brooke USA.

The Lunch & Learn is being organized by friends of Brooke USA who live and work in Aiken. Led by Guynn and Roth, Jillian Barrett, Sharer Dale, Amy Herbert, Ashley Lemoine. Leslie Munsell, Chris Powers and Shelly Schmidt are working avidly to make the event a success.

Guynn explained that she shared Brooke USA’s vision of a world in which working horses, donkeys, and mules are free from suffering. Roth added that “Brooke USA funds programs that equip local people with the knowledge and skills to give their horse, donkey or mule a better life.”

Sponsors to-date include Aiken Saddlery, Katie and Jack Roth, Smith, Massey, Brodie, Guynn and Mayes P.A. and Stable View.
