Chances Mini Horse Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Miniature Horse Rescue that operates solely through donations. The group works to rehabilitate abused, neglected or unwanted Miniature Horses and ponies through the charitable works of its members and sponsors as well as its foster and adoptive homes.
The group’s must important fundraising drive is the Thanksgiving Challenge or $3.00 Mission conducted each November via a popular Miniature Horse online forum. The challenge’s suggested donation amount of $3.00 is significant. First, the event kicked off three weeks before Thanksgiving, making the targeted donation request match the initial giving period. More importantly, in these tough economic times, the coordinator of this drive noted that a $3.00 donation is a level that nearly anyone can comfortably achieve.
In order to help this annual fundraising effort, Ozark Mountain MiniTack.com donated more than $500 worth of equine supplies, gifts and product to provide prize incentives and create special fundraising auctions.
“We just cannot thank [Ozark Mountain] enough for their continued support each and every year,” said Carolyn Pope, coordinator of the CMHR $3 Mission. “It is wonderful people like this that help to make our fundraisers so successful!”
Two “surprise buckets” valued at more than $100 and filled with goodies from Ozark Mountain were auctioned off online during the campaign, adding much needed proceeds to CMHR’s coffers.
