College Preparatory Invitational Launches “Fund My Ride” Initiative

The College Preparatory Invitational has launched a new initiative called “Fund My Ride” that allows CPI Jr. Ambassadors who raise a certain level of funds for the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund to cover their entry fee for the CPI Horse Show events.

College Preparatory Invitational Jr. Ambassadors can earn their entry to CPI events via fundraising efforts to cover their entry fee for the CPI Horse Show events.

The program also awards community service hours to participants and gives them the opportunity to work closely with a group of professionals in the equestrian industry to learn valuable business and life skills.

Applications for CPI FL open June15 and student riders can begin their application process on the CPI’s newly redesigned Web site http://www.collegeprepinvitational.com.

Participants in the CPI Junior Ambassador Program embody the spirit of giving back through fundraising and community service efforts in support the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund. Their work helps to raise awareness among student riders about the educational, competition and scholarship opportunities available to college bound students at the CPI events.

CPI Jr. Ambassadors can sign up for the Fund My Ride program by visiting the CPI Jr. Ambassador’s webpage. They are encouraged to share over their network via email and social media and let people know about CPI and the opportunities available to support the CPI Scholarship and Educational Fund. I

n order to cover the costs of participating in the CPI FL event on Jan. 13-15, 2016, Fund My Ride participants must raise $800.00 by November 30, 2016 at 11:59 EST. Those who achieve this goal will also have their $30.00 application fee for the CPI Horse Show applied toward their fundraising goal.

Through the CPI Jr. Ambassador Program, volunteers in grades 5-12 have an opportunity to gain valuable knowledge through a year long, hands-on learning experience that includes all aspects of managing a series of successful events.

Mentored by professionals and working as part of a cohesive team, participants in the program will develop valuable business and life skills including:  time management and communication skills, fund raising, event planning, promotions and media relations.

Jr. Ambassadors are required to spend 5 community service hours at the CPI horse show they are attending where they are competing. 

There they will have the opportunity to assist with every detail from serving as aids for judges and show managers, working in the CPI barn, preparing participant gift bags, registering riders and coaches at the event, performing clerical, data entry and office work, setting up tables and banners, helping colleges to set up their display tables, manage the silent auction, distribution of ribbons and prizes at the horse show ring and more.

About the College Preparatory Invitational

The CPI is a three-day event designed to educate student riders about the different formats of college equestrian competitions and provide riders with resources to help them create their desired college equestrian experience.

Riders in grades 9 through 12 have a chance to win scholarships in hunt seat equitation competition and participate in educational presentations throughout the event
