Hats Off Day is pleased to announce that the First Ever Equine Exclusive Book Fair will be held on Saturday, July 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Kentucky Horse Park.

The Book Fair will include authors with a wide variety of books: fiction and non-fiction, Thoroughbred and sport horse, children and adult.

The Fair is headlined by Elizabeth Letts’ New York Times best seller, The Eighty-Dollar Champion, which tells the incredible story of Snowman, a horse that was saved from slaughter and went on to become a Hall of Fame show jumper in the 1950’s.

In addition to Elizabeth Letts, Snowman’s owner, trainer, and rider, Harry de Leyer will be in attendance. Some of the other authors include Ed Bowen, Man O’ War, Legacies of the Turf, Milt Toby, Dancer’s Image: The Forgotten Story of the 1968 Kentucky Derby, James Nicholson, The Kentucky Derby: How the Run for the Roses Became America’s Premier Sporting Even, and Leslie Guttman, Equine ER, Stories from a Year in the Life of an Equine Hospital.

Hats Off Day is Kentucky’s day to celebrate its horse industry and offers free admission to the Kentucky Horse Park and all its attractions, free pony rides, free pictures of your child on a pony, and many more family friendly activities.

Free horse farm hats are distributed to attendees while supplies last. The evening concludes with the $50,000 Rood & Riddle Kentucky Grand Prix show jumping competition.
