Pfizer Animal Health and Stable Management magazine have announced that Gayle Lawrence of Fallbrook, CA, is the lucky winner of the SOLITUDE® IGR Fly Control Sweepstakes. Gayle is the owner and instructor at Kids Horsin’ Around, a privately-owned and family-operated business.

“I have never won anything before,” says Gayle Lawrence. “This has come at a great time for my barn, as we have 11 horses and have used SOLITUDE IGR for four years. We hand-feed it to all our horses in the turnout area and have found it works great to help keep control over the flies. There are two seasons in California, mud season and fly season.”

As the winner of the SOLITUDE IGR Sweepstakes, Gayle will receive an outstanding prize, sourced by Stable Management via Smartpakequine.com. The prize includes a season’s supply of SOLITUDE IGR fly prevention for 11 horses, a $1,000 cash prize and a Barn Buddy Kit.

The Barn Buddy Kit includes a muck bucket, pitch fork, wheelbarrow, Stall Safe Disinfecting Spray, three feed scoops, three small feed buckets, three heavy cotton lead ropes, lunge line and lunge whip, Uncle Jimmy’s Squeezy buns horse treats (3lb box), a double stitched leather halter, Hott Wash Select-a-Spray nozzle and hot water hose and a Deluxe Bathing set. The Deluxe Bathing set includes Eqyess Premier shampoo, sweat scraper, 8 qt. pail, jelly scrubber, Haas sponge brush and body sponge.

“Gayle Lawrence and Kids Horsin’ Around is the perfect example of the kinds of facilities we were hoping would participate in the SOLITUDE IGR Sweepstakes,” says Kristin Ruff, Director at Pfizer Animal Health. “It’s great to hear that she is an avid user of the SOLITUDE IGR product. We are pleased that we can help support her 11 horses with this great prize.”

Located in San Diego County, California, Kids Horsin’ Around is a small, family-owned equestrian center, offering both private and group horsemanship lessons for children and adults. Owner and instructor, Gayle Lawrence, is a nationally-certified riding instructor; certified by both the Certified Horsemanship Association and the American Riding Instructors Association. She teaches both English and Western for recreational riding. She specializes in teaching young beginner children the basics in horsemanship and fearful adults the confidence they need to fulfill their dreams of riding. “Stable Management would like to congratulate Gayle Lawrence and Kids Horsin’ Around on winning the SOLITUDE IGR Fly Control Sweepstakes,” says Jennifer Rowan, publisher of Stable Management Magazine. “We are thrilled with the enthusiasm and participation that we received with this sweepstakes. We would also like to thank Pfizer Animal Health and Smart Pak Equine for helping to make it such a success.”

Effective fly control can be a challenge for any horse owner. Flies are capable of transmitting disease and even affecting the weight and condition of horses, in severe cases. Safe and convenient, SOLITDUE IGR is an easy-to-dose, feed-through fly prevention that safely and dramatically reduces fly populations around horse operations by preventing immature flies from developing into adults.

The active ingredient in SOLITUDE IGR (2.12% cyromazine) has been shown in multiple studies to be up to 100% effective against house and stable flies. To achieve these results, owners need only top dress their horses' feed with one-half ounce of Solitude IGR daily. While significant results may be observed within two weeks, the full effect is usually realized in 4 - 6 weeks as the adult flies die off.
