Free Equine Law Webinar: When Horse Professionals Disagree

Newsdate: Sat 14 December 2013 – 6:50 am

As horse professionals, we try to avoid conflict with other professionals as much as possible. We are busy enough just trying to deal with the day-to-day operation of our own businesses to get into a dispute with another professional.

Resolving conflicts between horse professionals

“When Horse Professionals Disagree” is a free live webinar available to all horse professionals and can be attended via your phone or computer on December 16, 2013, but you must register to attend.

However, sometimes that avoidance of conflict can lead to unresolved issues, misperceptions about intentions, negativity toward one another and, well, conflict. The simple solution is to sit down and talk with the other individual(s) and work out the disagreements. But sometimes, that’s not enough.

EquestrianProfessional.com and Julie Fershtman, equine attorney and a shareholder with the law firm Foster Swift, are bringing horse professionals a free one-hour webinar on Monday, December 16, 2013, on how to avoid and handle these types of disputes.

“When Horse Professionals Disagree” will focus on examples of disputes that have occurred between professionals in the equine industry and suggestions for avoiding them.  Examples include: trainer vs. sales barn, trainer v. trainer, breeder vs. veterinarian or professional trainer v. former assistant.

No matter how these issues are resolved, reputation and good will can be at stake.

This webinar will approach these topics as they relate to horse professionals including:

  • Business dealings
  • Liabilities
  • Risk management
  • Alternative dispute resolution options
