Hagyard Pharmacy, LLC announces a new initiative with Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm to support the health and wellness of retired racehorses.

“It is a privilege that Hagyard Pharmacy can contribute to the care of the horses at Old Friends,” said Luke Hagyard Fallon, DVM and member at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. “They provide an honorable retirement for some of our most celebrated horses.”
Old Friends was founded in 2003 by former Boston Globe film critic Michael Blowen. The retirement facility invites the public and fans to visit their favorite turf heroes and proudly serves as a “living-history museum of horse racing”.
Attracting nearly 20,000 visitors annually, Old Friends is home to several Grade 1 winners such as: Breeders’ Cup Champions Amazombie, Little Mike and Alphabet Soup; Belmont Stakes winners Sarava and Touch Gold; and three-time Santa Anita Handicap winner Game On Dude.
The farm is also home to Kentucky Derby and Preakness champions Silver Charm and War Emblem.
“We strive to deliver the very best of care to all of our retirees,” said Old Friends’s Blowen. “But it would be impossible to do without the help of our community. We are so grateful to Hagyard for their participation and this generous donation."
