The long awaited Horse Agility Handbook (Trafalgar Press) is due for release in January 2012. The Horse Agility Club is an international organization and has members in countries across Europe, North America and Australasia; it promotes the competitive side of Horse Agility by standardizing the rules of competition.

The Horse Agility Club is based in the United Kingdom, but our official country’s clubs are run not from the UK, but by dedicated and enthusiastic individuals living and working in those countries who are passionate about furthering and growing the sport of Horse Agility.

The Club also oversees the recruitment of responsible well trained instructors or Horse Agility Accredited Trainers who will uphold the values of the sport for horse and handler in whatever school of horsemanship they have trained.

All club members benefit from the global structure and day-to-day support of The Horse Agility Club due to it being uniquely positioned to enable members to compete on a local, national or even international level of competition. The Horse Agility Club and all the country’s clubs are endorsed by the Federation of International Horse Agility Clubs (FIHAC), a federation set up to ensure that the core values of Horse Agility are upheld across the world.

The programs are run by specially selected Horse Agility Accredited Trainers.

Entry into the Online(OLHA!) competitions which are monthly video competitions are part of the membership advantages from The International Horse Agility Club. When joining, new members receive two free entries into the competition.

Members are insured in Europe with Public Liability insurance for club members competing, helping or judging at any Horse Agility Club event within Europe. Events are currently running around Great Britain, Europe, North America and Australia.

Interested parties can now order the much-awaited Horse Agility Handbook. The Horse Agility Handbook starts right at the beginning explaining what makes a horse the animal that he is, why he behaves differently from humans, and HOW to get his attention before starting training over agility obstacles.

Respecting him for being a horse but keeping safety in mind at all times, the attitude of the handler and how to change the attitude of the horse is discussed, as is being patient and giving the horse time  to learn.

With a focus on the development of your horse in the new and exciting sport of horse agility, founder of the International Horse Agility Clubs, Vanessa Bee, not only covers the training of the horse, but the ins and outs of the sport itself. Safe construction of obstacles and negotiation of the obstacles is explained in detail, as is how to use imagination to develop the scope of even the simplest obstacle or agility course.

The Horse Agility competitive levels are outlined and Vanessa explains how to organize a competition and training “play” days. A troubleshooting section serves as a reference for those moments when it just doesn’t seem to be working. Case studies of real life situations are placed throughout the text.

The book can be preordered through the Horse Agility Club at a very special price of £14.96 using the discount code WEBSITE1 plus postage and packaging."

Vanessa Bee will sign the first page of all copies and if requested write a personal dedication to you or a friend. To take advantage of this offer please write the desired words or request a dedication in the ‘Note to seller’ box in the final stage of the checkout process.

The handbook is also available direct from the publisher, Horse and Rider Books – USA
