Horse Trails of America (HorseTrailsOfAmerica.com) is the association for and by trail riders. This year, HTA launched its ambassador program— finding local volunteers in each state to help riders find the best local trails, events, layovers, camps and more.

The Details:
Being a State Ambassador for HTA is a volunteer position. HTA is looking for cheerleaders for trail riding! It’s important that ambassadors are comfortable online and excited about sharing trail-riding resources and events. All members join an ambassador-only Facebook group and have opportunities to win goodies from HTA sponsors.
“We are looking for individuals who will help promote the trails and camps in their home states and share back to the members of HTA,” says HTA Director Heidi Melocco. “The group of ambassadors we already have has become a great group of online and offline friends. Recently two of our ambassadors met up to ride in Utah. The group helps each other find events and trails and we help the ambassadors know what to do.”
Ambassador Duties:
Post on www.horsetrailsofamerica.com at least once a month in the state directories—sharing events, resources, info about where to ride in the state.
Share HTA info with local/state trail riding and horse groups.
Point trail riders and social media group members to the HTA.horse resources. Tell about the interactive map with trails, layovers, horse hotels, camps and more.
Write about local trails and events and help with local projects as they arise.
In return, HTA offers a free Comprehensive level membership and additional ambassador discounts and benefits.
The HTA.horse Map:
The HTA map now boasts 2500 locations listed.
“We have been working hard to find the best interactive map program for the website,” Melocco says. “Our goal with the map is to ensure that the amazing trail reports shared in the Facebook group are also shared on the map— so they can be organized and found easily again and again. If you need to search for a place to ride, the map will be your guide. If you need a place to camp or layover with your horse, the map has categories to help you find the closest spots. Make sure that we have your favorite trails on the map. We invite you to add the locations you know best on our location form here: https://www.horsetrailsofamerica.com/submitatrail.
Make sure to share the map with your friends and riding clubs. All local riding clubs, associations, and horse councils are welcome to post their trails and share riding info on the free monthly event calendar, too. It is free to access the map—just make a free login or use your membership login to access the site.
