High Brow Cat, the legendary stallion who stirred national headlines after being sold for $10 million earlier this year, will be the subject of a special tribute during the 2013 NCHA World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas, November 21 through December 14.

The 2013 NCHA World Championship Futurity in Fort Worth, Texas November 21 through December 14, 2013 will bring special moments including a tribute to legendary stallion High Brow Cat.
The sire of earners of more than $55 million, High Brow Cat is the nation’s leading sire of American Quarter Horse performance horse earners and is nearing the top of the list of all American Quarter Horse sire.
Among his most famous offspring are two NCHA horses of the year, Kit Kat Sugar and Don’t Look Twice, who herself is famous for being the top money earning mare of all time with more than $700,000 in earnings.
High Brow Cat, owned by Colt Ventures of Dallas, Texas, will make a rare personal appearance at the Futurity on December 13 during the open semi-finals. Posters featuring the famous stallion will be available as giveaways for fans.
In addition to the High Brow Cat Tribute, Futurity goers will also be treated to the pounding heat of the World Championship Blacksmith Competition taking place December 6-8. A National Champion Blacksmith will be named at the conclusion of the event.
WCB members travel the nation throughout the year competing at various venues. The World Championship Futurity will be the last stop of 2013 and is the second time it has been held at the NCHA Futurity. Horseshoeing competition will be held behind the cattle barns at the Will Rogers Memorial Center.
The membership-based WCB is in its seventh year of existence and serves to produce horseshoeing competitions with the opportunity to educate the horse-owning public in the process. Each contest is a three-day event comprised of four different rounds – match play, two-man, single man, and live horseshoeing.
NCHA is also pleased to partner with the Careity Foundation in its efforts to raise funds to help those suffering from cancer and for whom the cost of treatment is out of reach. With NCHA's help, the Careity Foundation hosts the Celebrity Cutting each year during the NCHA World Championship Futurity that draw thousands to the sport.
This year's event will be held December 6 in Will Rogers Coliseum with an impressive line-up of stars. Past celebrities have included actor Michael Keaton, Super Bowl Champion football stars Joe Montana and Jay Novacek, and country music artists like Tanya Tucker, Brad Paisley and more.
Tickets for the event are available through the Careity Foundation and are not included in the NCHA ticket package.
The Futurity will be a featured special event on RFD TV in December, where the show will be made available to more than 16 million households across the United States. The show will tentatively air on December 21, one week following the December 14 Open Finals.
The National Cutting Horse Association approves approximately 1,600 events each year with purses totaling more than $35 million. Cutting events take place throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, South American and Europe and are supported by such companies as Mercuria Energy, Ram Truck, Great American Insurance Group, the American Quarter Horse Association, John Deere Tractors and XTO Energy, among many others.
