The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) Foundation is accepting applications for funding from non-profit organizations that share its mission to improve the welfare of horses. The application deadline is April 1, 2016, one month earlier than in years past.
AAEP Grant to improve horse welfare
Priority emphasis will be given to applications that have the most impact on the welfare of the horse on a national and international scope, and for multiple horses or where emergency funding is needed.
Submitted applications will be reviewed by the AAEP Foundation Advisory Council at its July meeting. Recommended applications will undergo a final determination by the AAEP Foundation board of directors, and applicants approved for funding will be announced in August.
The Foundation annually supports equine organizations, universities and others that develop and implement programs that improve equine welfare. Priority emphasis will be given to applications that have the most impact on the welfare of the horse on a national and international scope, and for multiple horses or where emergency funding is needed.
Funds will not be provided to for-profit individuals or groups, retirement or rescue facilities, or for unsolicited equine research.
