Whiz N Tag Chex Becomes an NRHA Two Million Dollar Sire

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is proud to announce its newest Two Million Dollar Sire, Whiz N Tag Chex, bred by Bob Loomis and owned by Andre Tripoloni of Brazil. A 1999 stallion by NRHA Ten Million Dollar Sire Topsail Whiz out of Tag Chex by King Fritz, Whiz N Tag Chex was successful in the show pen prior to his lucrative career in the breeding shed.

Whiz N Tag Chex’s offspring have earned $2,045,569 and with his royal pedigree and show record, look for more Whiz N Tag Chex offspring to propel their sire upward to more Million Dollar milestones in the future.

Whiz N Tag Chex’s competitive reining career was indicative of his power, athleticism and heart. Ridden by NRHA’s first-ever Million Dollar Owner, Lance Griffin, he was the 2003 and 2004 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Level (L) 4 Non Pro Champion. The duo also helped capture the Silver Medal at the 2006 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) for Team Canada.

In the breeding shed, the sorrel stallion has sired an abundance of successful horses, most notably The Great Tag whose NRHA Lifetime Earnings (LTE) total $236,146. The Great Tag, piloted by NRHA Million Dollar Rider Cody Sapergia snagged the Reserve Champion title at the 2008 NRHA Futurity.

Among Whiz N Tag Chex’s first foal crop and second highest earning get is Dun Playin Tag (x Brennas Dunit Fancy by Hollywood Dun It) who like his sire, was a standout internationally, winning the Individual Bronze Medal at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

As well, Dun Playin Tag with Cody Sapergia was third in the 2007 NRHA Futurity L4 Open and with rider Samantha Burns; Dun Playin Tag captured the Reserve championship at the 2010 NRBC in the L4 Non Pro division. In total, Dun Playin Tag’s career earnings exceed $226,000.

In addition, Blue Collar Tag (LTE $216,164) has made a name for himself after becoming Champion at the NRBC in L3 and L4 Open divisions with NRHA Professional Martin Muehlstaetter. Other notable offspring include FM Shine N Tag Chex (LTE $94,262) and Lil Joe Tag (LTE $60,278).

In total Whiz N Tag Chex’s offspring have earned $2,045,569. With a royal pedigree and a show record to go with it, look for more Whiz N Tag Chex offspring to propel their sire upward to more Million Dollar milestones in the future.
