Out of thousands of entries, five finalists were selected, and from those five worthy contestants, one winner emerged.
MEET ZORRO, a Miniature Horse owned by Stephanie Fitkin. According to Stephanie, Zorro really and truly had to rely on his wit and will to survive in far harsher conditions than a winter snowstorm.
He ran away from the circus (as a colt, he played the part of the âWorldâs Smallest Horse" before escaping), only to end up abused, starved, and tied to a tree by new owners.
He was eventually found by Stephanie, hooves overgrown, having eaten as much of the tree as he could reach, and pretty darn scared of people (for good reason).
âIt took a long time to earn his trust,â says Stephanie, âbut he is now my puppy-shadow. He loves going on hikes and will go over, through, and into anything with you. I love this mighty Mini! He even turns my barn lights on for me when I head down to the barnâfor a treat, of course (and boy am I in trouble if I forget that treat!)â
Along with seeing Zorro featured in an all-new, original Fergus the Horse comic, Stephanie also won an autographed copy of THE ESSENTIAL FERGUS THE HORSE.
Other finalists include Pamela Pavlovian and her Mustang Paige, and Susan Heggie and her Quarter Horse Tangeray, who also received autographed copies of THE ESSENTIAL FERGUS THE HORSE.
You can view the all-new, original Fergus the Horse comic starring Zorro on the TSB Facebook page and, of course, on Fergusâs own Facebook page.
