“We wrote a great field guide that readers use along with the book, The Man Who Listens to Horses. It personalizes the original book and asks readers to apply lessons to their own lives,” commented Debbie Roberts-Loucks. “The book includes contributions from authors including Daniel Pink, Brene Brown and Peter Block. It adds powerful insights that readers can leverage as take-away’s,” Roberts-Loucks concluded.
Monty Roberts began his career in the rodeo ring as a world champion rider, and went on as a stunt double in epic Hollywood movies such as National Velvet staring Elizabeth Taylor. Roberts then began a successful career in racehorse training until he was discovered by Queen Elizabeth II of England.
His uncommon method of training horses with a trust-based approach instead of a fear-based approach propelled him to the world stage, where he offered his unique method of “Join-Up®” to the world. Join-Up is Roberts’ concept of partnering with a horse to win his trust.
This approach has allowed Roberts and his followers to place a saddle and bridle for the first time on a young horse in under 30 minutes. The Queen of England has utilized his approach for starting her racehorses, and Roberts has worked globally to end violence in horse training as a result.
Roberts has recently launched a new program for returned soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The program allows soldiers to build confidence and regain trust through the Join-Up process.
He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including 2012’s Royal Victorian Order received from the Queen of England. The show will feature the dramatic developments in his life as well as give an overview of the new book, Life Lessons from The Man Who Listens to Horses.
