Winner of a Purebred Arabian Bred by Wayne Newton, Opens Online Only Tack Store

In 1987, a shy young teenager by the name of Sarvy Emo with no horse experience except her once a week riding lessons, became the winner of the International Arabian Horse Association Youth Essay Contest. First prize, a 4 year old Purebred Arabian Gelding bred by Wayne Newton, named WN Altivo.

For the horse loving 18 year old, this event catapulted her into the horse world, immersing her in all the tasks owning an actual horse of your own does.

Fast forward 24 years, where Sarvy experienced and learned so much with her gelding, affectionately called 'Fig'.

Because of Fig, Sarvy ended up working at a Welsh Pony breeding stable, learning about stallions, mares, and foaling, becoming a certified English and Carriage Driving coach, riding thoroughbreds at the racetrack, training horses in Denmark, traveling to Germany with the Canadian Equestrian Team, showing at top level Welsh Pony, Arabian, Carriage Driving and Hunter shows, plus so much more.

Fig opened up so many doors and exposed Sarvy to so many great people who helped her learn and become the woman she is today.

Because of Altivo (Fig) and her 12+ experience in the IT field, Sarvy decided last year to open up Canada's first online only tack shop. Operating both in Canada and the United States, The Tack House has warehouses in Buffalo, NY as well as Ontario, Canada, and services the English & Western riders as well as the Carriage Driving enthusiasts.

Because the equine industry has helped Sarvy so much in her life, she is hoping to be able to give back to the industry using The Tack House as the vehicle.

'Opening' in 2010, TheTackHouse.com allows Horse Rescues, Pony Clubs, Associations and more to create a co-branded online tack shop of their own and sell products, making up to a 12% commission on items sold, thus raising funds for their needs.

The Tack House also donates a small percentage of each sale to US and Canadian Equine Research Centers, promoting further research into diseases such as cancer, which took the life of her beloved Altivo in 2007.

TheTackHouse.com sponsors many shows and events by donating prizes or gift certificates, especially youth related events.

"The Equine industry gave me so much as a teenager and young woman..self-confidence, adventure, great friends, and so much more" says Sarvy Emo, owner of TheTackHouse.com, " that I want to give back..especially to those like me who are horse crazy young people with humble backgrounds who cannot always afford a horse of their own or to go to too many shows/events.

I was so lucky to have won my 1st horse, I can’t give that chance to others myself, but I hope I can help horse loving people have easier access to horses and horse events to fuel their passion."  Sarvy looks forward to offering even more programs for horse loving kids, teenagers and adults alike, in the near future.

Because TheTackHouse.com is designed to help everyone in the horse industry, even small manufacturers, you can find a unique selection of items online that you would not normally find on other sites, items usually relegated to small local tack shops are now available to all of North America, online, at TheTackHouse.com.

TheTackHouse.com also offers free classified advertising, a free forum and a free directory of horse businesses. Check them out at http://www.TheTackHouse.com
