Freedom Health, makers of the equine digestive product SUCCEED® Digestive Conditioning Program®, has named June "Equine Colic Awareness Month."

The centerpiece of the Equine Colic Awareness Month initiative will be a new contest in the U.S. To enter, horse owners, riders and trainers can submit a photo of themselves with their horses while holding the new Colic Awareness Month graphic, along with their written colic stories.

The winner, which will be drawn at random, will receive a free SUCCEED Challenge registration, which includes a 60-day supply of SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program and a 10-pack starter kit of SUCCEED Oral Paste. The prize is worth up to $259.85. Five additional winners will have their photos and stories posted on the SUCCEED and Colic Crusade websites and Facebook pages (facebook.com/SUCCEEDEquine and facebook.com/coliccrusade).

“We are making June ‘Equine Colic Awareness Month’ to draw more attention to this dreaded condition and to get people talking,” said Patrick Warczak, Jr., VP – Marketing for Freedom Health. “It’s an extension of the Crusade Against Equine Colic, a movement empowering all horse people to learn how to reduce our horses’ risk for colic – and to share that knowledge with fellow equestrians. It’s our belief that so many horses could avoid colic if we understood it better, and could begin to take steps to manage the risks. This year, we’ll start with a contest to bring people on board the crusade. We hope this continues to grow so more people are educated, and more horses are saved.”

To enter the Colic Awareness Month contest, or to learn more about it, consumers should visit the Crusade Against Equine Colic website, at www.coliccrusade.com. Entries will be accepted between June 1 and June 30, 2012.

The Crusade Against Equine Colic was formed in 2011 with the stated goal of saving as many horses as possible from deadly and debilitating bouts of equine colic, through education of the men and women who care for them. The crusade was developed by Freedom Health, to provide a forum for new thoughts and perspectives on this critical and costly issue, in order to empower owners, trainers and riders to make better, more informed decisions for themselves and their horses.

The SUCCEED Challenge was developed in 2010 to provide horse people with the opportunity to try SUCCEED for their horse without risk.

SUCCEED Digestive Conditioning Program is a unique, patented and natural daily supplement program designed to support the health of the entire equine digestive tract. It is produced and distributed exclusively by Freedom Health, LLC of Aurora, Ohio. The company is focused on finding, perfecting and delivering superior, innovative products that address real and significant health-related issues for animals and the people who care for them.
