FLUVAC INNOVATOR 4 vaccines aid in the prevention of equine influenza due to type A2 viruses; equine encephalomyelitis due to Eastern and Western equine encephalomyelitis viruses; and tetanus. These vaccines are adjuvanted with MetaStim for an improved immune response. The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) recommends equine influenza vaccination every six months for at-risk horses, which includes horses under six years of age, geriatric horses and horses that may be frequently exposed to equine influenza virus (EIV) at shows or other equestrian events1.

“For many years, FLUVAC INNOVATOR has been the trusted choice of veterinarians to help provide protection from equine influenza due to EIV,” said Andrea Wright, DVM, MVSc, Marketing Manager, Equine Biologicals for Pfizer Animal Health. “Pfizer Animal Health stands behind the established reputation and efficacy of these vaccines. The FLUVAC INNOVATOR vaccines are available in a wide range of combinations to help provide veterinarians and horse owners with the protection that best suits their horses and situations.”

The FLUVAC INNOVATOR vaccines are included in the Equine Immunization Support Guarantee, which provides up to $5,000 for reasonable diagnostic and treatment costs if a horse properly vaccinated by a veterinarian contracts the corresponding equine disease.

Disease protection backed by the Equine Immunization Support Guarantee includes infection from West Nile virus, equine influenza virus, tetanus, Eastern equine encephalomyelitis virus, Western equine encephalomyelitis virus, and Venezuelan equine encephalomyelitis virus.

Vaccinations must be provided and administered by a licensed veterinarian with an established client-patient relationship to be eligible. For more information on this program, horse owners should contact their veterinarian
