FullBucket yet again returns to poor communities in Mexico this October 20-26, 2013, to distribute nutritional supplements to working equids in dire need.  This year they have more than doubled the expected outreach from last year to over 4-tons of supplement or 75,000 servings.

FullBucket is a complete line of supplements that help fight GI disease including chronic problems such as diarrhea, colitis and colic, and for every purchase, a specially formulated supplement is given to a horse in a poor community.

“Our Giving program has grown to a new phase where we will distribute the much needed nutritional supplements during these special workshop trips, but also will be stocking and supplying through local resources.” Says Dr. Rob Franklin, CoFounder of FullBucket. “It’s always been part of our plan but having it happen so quickly is really exciting.”

FullBucket is a complete line of supplements veterinarians and horse owners use to help fight GI disease or regular GI upset including chronic problems such as diarrhea, colitis and colic. For every FullBucket purchased, the company gives a specially formulated supplement to an animal in need in poor communities throughout Latin America.

FullBucket team members will join other veterinarians and volunteers for the Equitarian Initiative in the Veracruz region of Central Mexico. This is the 4th Equitarian Initiative Workshop trip where they have collaborated with Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, Donkey Sanctuary, World Horse Welfare and the Asociacion Mexicana de Veterinarios Especialistas en Equinos.

FullBucket created a mini-documenatary from last year’s Workshop that can be viewed at: http://www.fullbuckethealth.com/latest-articles/fullbucket-working-equids-video/

The animals that cope with various ailments in this area are the transportation, ranch hands, family and friends of the people that own them.  When these working animals become ill, scarce and dated healthcare prohibits their owner’s ability to make a living for their family.

"The world as we know it was developed on the backs of horses and working donkeys that have been termed the working equids; in many places around the globe that relationship continues. In fact, there are more than 80 million of them in service today," said Franklin.

“Our business success is being delivered by the thousands of veterinarians now using our products in their daily protocols to help keep performance horse’s healthy. But our philanthropy is being defined by being able to increase the nutritional care to the working equids in poor communities that really need it," said Dr. Keith Latson, FullBucket’s CoFounder. "As small business owners, animal lovers and veterinarians, there is no bigger dividend. We want to share that with the world.”

About the Equitarian Initiative

The AAEP, AAEP Foundation, WHW, Donkey Sanctuary, HSVMA and UNAM came together in October 2010 to put on the first annual Equitarian Workshop in Veracruz, Mexico. This workshop was designed to teach veterinarians about the problems and needs of the working equid. The workshop has become an annual event occurring in October. From this gathering a need has grown to help disperse information to help the initiative grow and connect interested parties.
