"From our early involvement with with Dr. Beverly Gordon, founder and developer of Equi-Tape, we were convinced that it would not be long before large numbers of equestrians, including equine health care practitioners and trainers, realized the benefits of using Equi-Tape," noted James Ruder, CEO of RS Bioceuticals.

Equi-Tape is the first elastic kinesiology athletic training tape designed specifically for use on horses with advanced adhesive properties for ease of application, removal and placement longevity.

“Any modality used successfully in the world of human athletics crossing over to the equine community with the same proven successes and benefits is very rewarding” says Dr. Gordon, DC and certified taping practitioner who has spent much of her career specializing in equine bio-mechanics of movement with a specialty in training resistances.

Equi-Tape® is the first elastic kinesiology athletic training tape designed specifically for use on horses. It is a latex-free, elastic cotton two-way stretch tape technology that contains advanced adhesive properties for ease of application, removal and placement longevity.

The mechanism by which Equi-Tape® affects the body is completely different from those of traditional athletic tape. The effect of elastic kinesiology tape is based on its ability to interact with the skin and associated neuro, mechano and sensory receptors.

Unlike a brace or support, elastic kinesiology tape neither compresses tissue nor limits range of motion. In fact, the tape decompresses the tissue, and lifts the skin allowing increased blood and lymph circulation which assists in the body’s natural ability to heal.

The high level of interest in Equi-Tape® was confirmed this past August at the first Equi-Taping™ Method and Strategies Certification Course for equine practitioners, held at the beautiful Kendalwood Farm in Zionsville, PA.

Fifteen equine health care practitioners from across the US and Puerto Rico attended this two day course. “Recognizing practitioners who successfully complete the certification exam further embodies the importance of equine professionals leading the way toward improving equine health care and athletic potential by including non-invasive modalities in their treatment and training programs,” noted Stacey Small, President, RS Bioceuticals.

The company’s long term goal is have Equi-Taping™ utilized as common place as massage therapy, chiropractic and other holistic approaches to equine health care and athletic training. By the end of 2014 we expect there to be 200 practitioners certified in Equi-Taping™ Methods and Strategies, offering taping services as part of their standard health care protocol.

The next Equi-Taping™ Method and Strategies course (CETP) is being held at the beautiful 3h Veterinary Services clinic in New Hill, NC November 23 & 24, 2013.  This certification course is open to equine professionals such as Veterinarians, Chiropractors, Massage Therapists, and other equine health care practitioners who hold a professional license or certification.

Additional events are being planned for early 2014 in Wellington, FL and Lexington, KY.
