Veterinarians and horse owners can use the dressing any time a horse suffers an injury or a condition that causes bleeding to occur.

The product is available in an easy to use, sterile, non-woven gauze roll that conforms easily to wounds. It works well in any bleeding situation from minor to traumatic.

Veterinarians and horse owners can use the dressing any time a horse suffers an injury or a condition that causes bleeding to occur.

Applications:

  • Lacerations (Cornet, legs and body from metal siding on barns, fencing and nails)
  • Puncture wounds (frog and hoof from metal, glass and nails)
  • Injuries from kicking through stalls
  • Foaling (umbilical cord)
  • Emergency bleeding situations (jugular, trail riding, remote first aid)

As all horse owners know, traumatic injuries nearly always are accompanied by bleeding. In most cases, blood loss is minimal and constant pressure for several minutes will allow the blood to clot. However, if blood is gushing or if application of pressure does not stop the bleeding, a veterinarian should be called immediately.
