So Big is Better, the champion older Arabian horse of 2012, capped off a remarkable 2013 season with a 7+ length victory in the first ever Breeder’s Cup Arabian race at Santa Anita Park.

Of note: So Big is Better worked a mile in 1:53 upon his arrival in California, and again breezed a fast 3F the day before his big win. Prior to heading to post, he spent October training 6,000 feet above sea level at Quarter Moon Ranch in Arenas Valley, New Mexico.

In addition, his owner fed him an award-winning supplement named STORM®, by Racing Blue. STORM® promotes buffering of lactic acid in muscles by boosting muscle carnosine synthesis, allowing horses to work at maximum speed and power for longer. Muscle carnosine level in Arabians is generally lower than Thoroughbreds and Quarter horses, so STORM® is especially effective at helping them achieve their full potential.

Owner Mark Powell: “The combination of elevation, STORM®, and Scott’s conditioning for stamina led to our first Grade 1 win at the best possible time. So Big is Better covered the mile and a sixteenth distance 3 seconds faster than ever before – and against top flight competition.”

Perhaps most impressively was the manner in which he won. So Big is Better was 11 lengths off the lead at the half mile mark, but overtook the leader just 2 furlongs later: covering that quarter mile (including the turn) in 26 seconds; 2 seconds faster than the rest of the field who tired following a blazing opening half mile in 50.47 seconds.

As the all time leader in wins by a son of super stallion Burning Sand, So Big is Better is now available for stud duty, contact Mark Powell for details at mkpenterprisesut@aol.com or 801-638-4111.

Trainer Scott Powell and Lori Long are accepting new trainees at Quarter Moon Ranch or call Scott directly at 575-654-6129.
