Rudy Leone of Leone Footing was brought in as the footing consultant and personally was responsible to oversee the mixing of the textiles with the custom chosen sand.
For the horse show, West Palms Event manager, Dale Harvey employed Tractor Dean to work his magic on prepping the arenas for show days, being responsible for all grooming, watering and maintaining the right mix of both to create a first class footing for the competitors.
Both Rudy Leone and Tractor Dean have years of experience not only with sand arenas but are GGT -Footing top distributors and arena consultants on the West Coast.
Turf Specialist Stephen Guise from Guise associates was brought in to consult on the grand prix and hunter arena turf fields. Stephen is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island and has a B.S. degree in Agronomy. He also sat on the board of the Sports Turf managers Association and continues to be an active member.
Stephen was also instrumental in writing technical specifications for the care of this particular turf with the ASTM organization.
The turf on the field has also been rigorously tested, as park manager Chet Voss and his son, Ben Voss conducted numerous turf tests with several outside horses. Along with Stephenâs recommendations on a grass and fiber interlocking system, The Voss team ensured the water consciousness of all the grass on the property, and they have used a water-friendly hybrid-Bermuda grass that goes dormant in the winter.

The owner of the Paso Robles Horse Park, Linda Starkman takes hands on approach. The vision she had for this park is an accumulation of her years of being involved in horse competitions. She has been involved in breeding and training top quality hunters and Jumpers in the national and international circuit. Her vision included each detail of the Park.
Linda wanted a facility that would lack asphalt and cement. Her main concern was for the horses and the ridersâ safety and comfort.
Dale Harvey owner of West palms Event Management along with his team consisting of several professional people including Danielle Ballard , Teal and many more are managing two weeks of back to back high end Hunter jumper shows that both have 500 plus horses!!
Spectators can also watch competitions at any of the sand arenas or from lawn seating on the berm adjacent to the Fairway turf Field. Though the Park is geared toward horse use and is perfectly set up for horse shows and competitions, it is soon to be available as a multi-use facility.
