During the holidays, horse owners love to give treats as gifts to their horses. According to a survey conducted by Manna Pro Products, an animal care and nutrition company, 98 percent of horse owners give their horses a gift at Christmas, and 74 percent of horse owners give their horses gifts for special occasions. The most popular gift is a package of horse treats.

The Holiday Moments” program from Manna Pro focuses on horse treats with special offers, giveaways, a photo/video contest and more.

This holiday season, Manna Pro wants to help consumers give their equine friends the best-selling horse treats on the market – Bite-Size Nuggets in Apple, Peppermint, and Carrot & Spice flavors. To do this, the animal nutrition company is expanding its annual “Holiday Moments” program to include product giveaways, special offers, and a photo and video contest with more than $3,000 in prizes including a year’s supply of Manna Pro treats for 10 winners.

“When we saw the results of our customer survey on horse treats, we were surprised to find that almost everyone said they give their horses a holiday gift. That’s when we decided to really go over the top with this year’s ‘Holiday Moments’ program. We see it as our gift back to customers who purchase Manna Pro treats and our other equine products throughout the year,” said Carolyn Adams, Senior Brand Manager at Manna Pro.

The company’s 2014 “Holiday Moments” theme reflects the reason many horse owners are inspired to give treats to their equine friends: “Give some love. Get some love.” The theme appears on displays at select retailers and on all related program elements. The promotions include:

  • “Inspiring Moments” photo and video contest, with over $3,000 in prizes including a grand prize of $1,000 cash and a year’s supply of Manna Pro horse treats.  Nine category winners receive a Samsung Galaxy Tablet and a year’s supply of Manna Pro horse treats. Categories are:  Cutest Horse, Amazing Sports Moment, Treat Times, So Happy Together, Best Dressed, My Inspiration, Holiday Moments, Clowning Around, and Video Vibes.  Entries will be accepted from 11/1/14 to 12/31/14.
  • A new series of holiday e-cards commissioned by Manna Pro that feature horse humor and are available for free.
  • 2014 Holiday Horse Gift Guide packed with great ideas for equine gifts.
  • A new blog series featuring equine trainer Sue De Laurentis on behavioral training using treats as motivation.
