All eyes will be on American Pharoah with Jockey, Victor Espinoza, as he attempts to become the 12th horse to win the elusive American Triple Crown.

American Pharoah's seven-length win over a sloppy course in the Preakness was probably the most impressive of his wins. He has won six in a row, with the Kentucky Derby being the most difficult of his races.

Now with with  a small field of just seven other horses in the race, the chances of American Pharoah running into needless problems on the track are remote and puts more emphasis on Victor Espinoza running a smart tactical race, which he has proved he does very well.

The Belmont culminates a hard stretch of racing with a 1 1/2-mile distance that is longer than the Derby or the Preakness. Many of the horses in the running skipped one or both of the crown's first two legs, so the competition will be rested.

Though American Pharoah is a heavy betting favorite, only 11 horses have managed to achieve one of sport's most elusive feats, the last one being Affirmed in 1978.

Trainer Bob Baffert is keeping his excitement in check, saying "I've seen a lot of great horses get to this point and lose."

So, who will come through and win the Triple Crown is still open for conjecture by racing enthusiasts everywhere.
