This contest, held in memory of one of ASPC/AMHR’s most creative members, helps remind everyone that not all equine endeavors take place in a pasture, barn or arena.  Some equine lovers combine their passion for ponies with their artistic talents to create lovely art or to take captivating horse photos or to write amusing pony poetry.

This contest is open to all ASPC/AMHR/ASPR/NSPPR members of the ages listed below. The Creativity Program is an opportunity for small equine enthusiasts to express their love of small equine without going into the show ring.

The following creative categories featuring ponies or horses are available for competition:

  • Artwork– Black & White
  • Artwork – Color
  • Artwork – Fabric
  • Artwork – Miscellaneous (any medium not specifically listed)
  • Photography – Black & White
  • Photography – Color
  • Literary
  • Humorous – any medium.

These seven creative categories are divided by the following ages: Adult 18 and older; Youth ages 13 to17; and Youth ages 6 to 12.

To enter, entries may be hand-carried to the convention or sent directly to the convention hotel as follows:

The ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Creativity Contest is held in memory of former member Sue Price of Manteno, IL.  Sue was passionate about small equine and always went above and beyond to promote them.  Price was also very well known for both her creativity and her great sense of humor.  The Creativity Contest was originally Sue’s idea, and she worked hard to champion and coordinate the program until her death.
