The 2012 Sue Price Memorial Creativity Contest will take place during the American Shetland Pony Club’s annual convention set for November 8-10 at the Millennium Hotel in St. Louis, MO. Entries for the Creativity Contest are due by November 8.
The Sue Price Memorial Creativity Program is an opportunity for small equine enthusiasts to express their love of small equines without going into the show ring.

This contest, held in memory of one of ASPC/AMHR’s most creative members, helps remind everyone that not all equine endeavors take place in a pasture, barn or arena. Some equine lovers combine their passion for ponies with their artistic talents to create lovely art or to take captivating horse photos or to write amusing pony poetry.
This contest is open to all ASPC/AMHR/ASPR/NSPPR members of the ages listed below. The Creativity Program is an opportunity for small equine enthusiasts to express their love of small equine without going into the show ring.
The following creative categories featuring ponies or horses are available for competition:
- Artwork– Black & White
- Artwork – Color
- Artwork – Fabric
- Artwork – Miscellaneous (any medium not specifically listed)
- Photography – Black & White
- Photography – Color
- Literary
- Humorous – any medium.
These seven creative categories are divided by the following ages: Adult 18 and older; Youth ages 13 to17; and Youth ages 6 to 12.
To enter, entries may be hand-carried to the convention or sent directly to the convention hotel as follows:

Each entry should be labeled on the reverse side with member name and number, category and age group. Exhibitors must make arrangements for their entries to be picked up from the annual meeting or have provided return postage and packaging.
Winners will be announced at the convention during the Saturday morning awards ceremony. All ASPC/AMHR members attending the convention will have an opportunity to vote. Winners will be notified by mail and the National Office will issue the monetary awards.

The ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Creativity Contest is held in memory of former member Sue Price of Manteno, IL. Sue was passionate about small equine and always went above and beyond to promote them. Price was also very well known for both her creativity and her great sense of humor. The Creativity Contest was originally Sue’s idea, and she worked hard to champion and coordinate the program until her death.
