Appaloosa World Horse Show Offers Fun for Everyone

The world’s most talented Appaloosas, exhibitors, owners, and trainers are gearing up for the premier event in the Appaloosa industry- the 2015 World Championship Appaloosa Show! This year’s show will take place October 23- 31, 2015 at the Will Rogers Memorial Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

The world’s most talented Appaloosas, exhibitors, owners, and trainers are gearing up for the premier event in the Appaloosa industry - the 2015 World Championship Appaloosa Show which will take place October 23 - 31, 2015.

The nine-day international competition will showcase some of the industry’s most talented, athletic, and versatile equines and their exhibitors. The show features a wide array of classes including jumping, cattle, halter, western pleasure, and unique-to-the-breed horse-against-horse speed events.

In addition to world caliber competition, several special events will be held during the show – just for fun! On Sunday, Oct. 25, there will be a progressive social with hors ’d oeuvres beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Will Rogers Coliseum, followed by entrees in the John Justin Arena at 5:30 p.m. and dessert in the Brown Lupton South at 7:00 p.m.

That same evening, the ApHC along with vendors of the Best of the West Gift Expo will kick off the very first Shopper’s Showdown from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Shopper’s Showdown is an exciting one-night-event offering a variety of sales and giveaways in the gift expo. Start Christmas shopping early and take advantage of great deals!

The second annual Appaloosa Youth Association (AYA) Costume Contest will take place the afternoon of Friday, October 30th with all proceeds benefiting the AYA. Pre-entries are only $20 and will be accepted in the ApHC Show Office until October 29th.

Entries will also be accepted the day of the contest for $25. Entries will compete for the esteemed title of World Champion Costume Contest Winner in two categories: People and Animal. Please note that handlers of animals entered are required to be in costume as well. 

The excitement continues on Friday, October 30th as the ApHC and attendees will join forces to give back. The annual Toys for Tots performance will kick off with exciting classes including the always popular Freestyle Reining.

Be sure to bring an unwrapped toy or cash donation. These will not only serve as admission for the evening performance, but also enter you in a drawing for a variety of prizes. The fun doesn’t stop there; the annual American Cancer Society Benefit Calcutta will also take place Friday evening!
