In the spirit of James Herriot’s beloved tales, the newly published book Friends With Four Legs illuminates how horses, dogs, cats, and other creatures enrich our lives in humorous and thought-provoking ways.

By award-winning journalist and author Jennifer Forsberg Meyer, the book—a sort of memoir-by-adventure—offers clear evidence that the animals in our lives are indeed worth the time, effort, expense, and heartache we invest in them.

An easy, entertaining read, the book brings to life not only how much our four-legged friends brighten our days, but also how they complicate our lives in delightfully unpredictable ways.

From one of several Amazon 5-star reviews:

What a wonderful book…

…I have already recommended it to some of my animal loving friends. It moved quickly and held my attention. I especially loved the comparison of these animals to humans and the life-learning lessons they provide. I’ve always known animals are like family but to hear in such detail the comparison was wonderful. Fantastic writing! The love and concern for family and animals comes through.”

By special arrangement with California Horsetrader, three horse-related chapters from the book are available to read for free at this link: https://horsetrader.com/media/friendswithfourlegs.pdf.
