The American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., (ASPC) established a Super Gelding Program a couple of years ago to promote geldings in all of its registries – the ASPC (American Shetlands), the American Miniature Horse Registry, the American Show Pony Registry and the National Sports Performance Pony Registry.
With excitement growing and entries being added regularly, ASPC's 2012 Super Gelding Program awards payouts are shaping up to be the largest in the program's history.
This incentive program rewards those members showing and campaigning their small equine geldings. For 2012, the Super Gelding Program is expanding and reaching new levels thanks to recent reinvigoration and promotion.
The ASPC’s Gelding Committee has been working diligently to promote the program through various channels and is seeing increased participation from more areas of the country as a result.
“This is going to be an amazing year for the Super Gelding Program, and there is still time to nominate your gelding,” says Trace Anderson, chair of the Super Gelding Program for the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR/NSPPR.
The program runs through the association’s show year, which ends on November 30, 2012. There are still dozens and dozens of recognized shows across the country over the coming months where nominated geldings may compete.
Anderson noted it is easy for members of the ASPC and its other registries to enter their small equine geldings and join the fun. Rules for this program are on the association’s website at www.shetlandminiature.com. Look under the menu option “Incentive Programs” for the Super Gelding program.
Those who want to enroll their small equine geldings can obtain the necessary form via that link. There is a small nomination fee, but the rewards are shaping up to be big as the participation grows. There will be a total of nine (9) Super Gelding awards based on the tracking that owners do for their enrolled geldings based on participation in recognized classes at rated ASPC/AMHR/ASPR/NSPPR shows. Miniature, Classic, Foundation, Modern and Modern Pleasure geldings will each have an all-around halter and an all-around performance award.
American Show Pony and NSPPR geldings will each compete for a single all-around award combining halter and performance. Winners will receive cash payouts based on the nomination fees. With excitement growing and entries being added regularly, 2012 Super Gelding Program awards payouts are shaping up to be the largest in the program’s history.
