In October, the Cornell Equine Seminar Series will feature Dr. Lindsay Goodale, a senior lecturer in the Department of Animal Science at Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

The Cornell Equine Seminar Series is presented by the Cornell Equine Hospital and Cornell Cooperative Extension. Held monthly, equine experts present on important equine health and management topics.

Her talk will delve into the growing interest in giving horses agency, or choice and control, in their lives. We'll talk about some common challenges as well as opportunities to increase agency for your horses through management, training, and everyday interactions.

About Dr. Goodale:  Dr. Lindsay Goodale is a senior lecturer in the Department of Animal Science at Cornell’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). In this role she teaches undergraduate and graduate student courses in equine biology and management, domestic mammalian behavior, and animal welfare. Lindsay also serves as the equine extension specialist for New York State and has developed a Horse Farm Improvement Program for equine operations. She attended veterinary school at Cornell and graduated in 2012, returning to work at Cornell in her current role in 2017. Lindsay is pursuing board certification through the American College of Animal Welfare and owns an off-track Thoroughbred named Fig who enjoys clicker training.

This seminar is part of the Cornell Equine Seminar Series, and will be presented on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom. Please register in advance.
