“We all need some training,” the accomplished hunter rider/trainer Tommy Serio commented after giving a Ride & Learn clinic sponsored by Draper Therapies on February 11. Serio believes that even the best riders should never stop learning.

Tommy Serio is considered to be one of the best hunter trainers and riders in the United States, and has spent over thirty years winning numerous national hunter championships at the most prestigious shows across the country.

Draper Therapies demonstrated agreement with this belief by sponsoring a clinic in the Ride & Learn series, which was held in the Van Kampen Covered Arena at The Stadium at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center during the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

The event’s clinician— Tommy Serio, of Keswick, Virginia— is considered to be one of the best hunter trainers and riders in the United States. He has spent over thirty years winning numerous national hunter championships at the most prestigious shows across the country, and has excelled at riding a variety of horses.

Serio trains with the philosophy that taking the time to truly get to know each horse he works with is of utmost importance. Since time is limited to personally get to know horses in a clinic setting, Serio said he tried to work on getting the “general picture” across to the riders in his recent Ride & Learn clinic.

“The students were great … You just sort of pass your ideas on to them as far as position goes, as far as preparing them for a clinic or horse showing and things of that nature.” he explained. At the close of the clinic, Becky Shipps of Draper Therapies presented Serio and each rider in the clinic with a complimentary product from Draper.

Draper Therapies offers items for horses, canines, and people. All products contain Celliant, which is a particular blend of minerals infused in polyester fiber. Independent studies have shown that Celliant effectively increases tissue oxygen levels in those who are in contact with it. Increased tissue oxygen levels can improve performance, increase muscle recovery, and relieve pain.

Overall, Celliant can improve the natural systems of the body. The Celliant-containing products that Draper Therapies provides include blankets (for equines, canines, and humans, too), horse boots and wraps, saddle pads, dog beds, supports and braces for people, and clothing.

While remembering that no one is too great for further improvement, the riders who participated in Tommy Serio’s clinic will now be able to enjoy improvements brought by their new Draper Therapies products as well as by the skills and techniques that Serio taught in the Ride & Learn clinic sponsored by Draper Therapies.
