God's Little Acre 66 run by Sharon Burnett near Caseyville, Illinois, has a waiting list of animals that need rescuing, but with funds in short supply, they are not able to take in more animals.

The farm takes in abandoned equine animals and rehabilitates them. The rehabilitated animals are taken to places for interaction and therapy with handicapped people and also host people at the farm.

"It's a place where the animals make the miracles happen," Burnett said.

"It's amazing to see these neglected animals with such sweet personalities," she said. "It's fascinating to see these horses, with someone on them who isn't really stable, walk so carefully to protect their riders."

Burnett said she has a waiting list of people wanting to give her animals now but she can't take any more. First she needs to make sure she has enough feed for everything she's got for the winter.

The operation will get donations from a fundraiser planned for Saturday at the Caseyville VFW. The VFW has donated the use of the hall for the event, which runs from noon to midnight. The event will feature silent auctions, a live auction, food, drinks and music by live bands.
