Surprise a business associate, client, friend, or family member with a virtual gift from the world’s largest international equine welfare charity, the Brooke. A BrookeShop gift will have an amazing impact and help hardworking horses, donkeys, mules, and the people who depend on them in developing countries.

Your gifts will be appreciated not only by the people in whose honor you give them, but even more importantly, by the animals and people who will enjoy a better life because of your generous gesture.

Another reward for your generosity is that BrookeShop gifts are fully tax-deductible!

Here’s why:

At least 100 million working equines are the engines that power the developing world, doing the hardest jobs under the toughest conditions to support the livelihoods of 600 million people. That's 9% of the world's population.

The Brooke is dedicated to improving the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules in communities where people often earn less than one dollar a day. Poverty and desperation often force owners to overwork their animals, resulting in a great deal suffering.

Most of this suffering is preventable. The Brooke works together with local communities to bring about lasting improvements to the lives of their working animals, which also protects human livelihoods.

Here’s how:

Visit our Brooke USA website to purchase virtual gifts that could provide warmth for horses who are suffering in Nepal’s brutal winters, painkillers for old donkeys working in India’s brick kilns, soft saddlepads for ponies working in coal mines in Pakistan, new shoes for carriage horses working in Kenya, water for dehydrated donkeys working in Ethiopia, or lifesaving medicines for mares and foals in Egypt.

Then make your selections and contact us to let us know to whom we should send your gift acknowledgement. We’ll make sure your donation gets to the animals, and the gift acknowledgement goes to whomever you wish.

The Brooke is currently working in 11 of the world’s poorest countries to alleviate the suffering of working equines. By purchasing virtual gifts from our on-line BrookeShop catalogue, you will be providing basic necessities for animals and owners who desperately need the support that our charity offers.

About Brooke USA

Brooke USA is a 501(c)(3) charity located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, which exists solely to support the overseas work of the Brooke – the world’s largest international equine welfare charity. The Brooke was founded by Dorothy Brooke in 1934.

As the wife of a British Major General stationed in Cairo, Mrs. Brooke began a free veterinary clinic there after seeing the deplorable conditions of the British war horses who had been left behind in Egypt after WWI by the military and virtually sold into hard labor.

The Brooke has expanded over the last 81 years to assist millions of working equines, benefitting millions of people who depend on them in the world’s poorest communities.  The Brooke is currently working in Egypt, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nepal, Senegal, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Mexico.
