Helping Veterans through equine assisted therapy
This initiative assists military veterans through services provided by PATH International members and by providing leadership and guidance for equine-assisted activities and therapies.
Those who work and volunteer at PATH Intl. Centers worldwide don’t have that problem either. They know what kind of a difference they make in the lives of 56,000 adults and children with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges.
So what happens when the Marines set PATH Intl. in their sights? You get a film called “Literally Living the Dream” created by a team of active duty Marines (called Team Lele Kawa). The movie is filled with surfing, skating, cliff diving and more as it encourages everyone to live life to the fullest.
The best part is that Team Lele Kawa is donating all proceeds to PATH International Equine Services for Heroes. This initiative assists military veterans through services provided by PATH International members and by providing leadership and guidance for equine-assisted activities and therapies.
To accomplish this mission, PATH Intl. Centers connect with Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and Clinics, as well as individual veterans. Veterans of any age can benefit from the program and by being involved with equines.
Staff Sergeant Jeff Caraway, Graphics Chief and member of Team Lele Kawa, reported that after six months of DVD and t-shirt sales, and with almost no advertising, $1,200 will be donated to PATH International Equine Services for Heroes.
Caraway is the brother of Colt Cumpton, the 2012-2013 President of the Junior Paint Horse Association, who has also named PATH Intl. as the recipient of his “Paint Our Country Proud” campaign.
