About Legendary Mustang Sanctuary:

We care for the abused and mistreated mustangs. Rescue America’s wild mustang horses & burros and help advance its public education programs to raise awareness of the important role these historical, living, legendary animals play in America’s western history. Legendary Mustang Sanctuary developed and supports two formal education programs which include internships for students studying Veterinary Medicine and Equine Sciences.

An application process is in place for these programs. We have also implemented a Veterans Program called S.A.V.E. (Sanctuary and Veterans Equine Project) to aid in the healing of PTSD and other identifiable illnesses.

There are many people that adopt wild equine from the Bureau of Land Management. They are not educated about the care and training of these great animals. Some people do not understand what it takes to work with these horses. They abuse them, and some of them are pushed aside to starve to death! We acquire these animals, train them, and find them an adoptable home.

We also go to the Bureau of Land Management and rescue three strike horses. These horses are moved to 3 different adoption locations, and at the end of their third location, if they are not adopted, the Bureau of Land Management will send them to long-term holding facilities. We try to save as many of these mustangs as possible. https://www.legendarymustangsanctuary.org/
