Ten horses were seized on March 21, 2012, from an Oregon property after a search warrant was served by authorities from Clackamas County, according to the Oregon Humane Society.

Under-weight horses lives were at risk
Ten neglected horses were seized from an Oregon property in mid March.
The horses were removed to a location in Oregon City, where they will be cared for by volunteers from Sound Equine Options, a Gresham-based nonprofit
The society described the horses as underweight and said their lives were at risk. Humane society officers and Clackamas County deputies went to the property on Monday morning.
“We are very concerned for the health of these animals,” the society’s executive director, Sharon Harmon, said.
“Our officers determined that some of the horses were terribly underweight and that we needed to act quickly to protect their health.”
The condition of the horses was brought to the attention of the society by a complaint from the public.
