Rood Riddle and Foundation is preparing to auction a halter worn by Zenyatta during her broodmare career to benefit the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The halter will be offered on an eBay auction, which is set to go live on Wednesday, March 14th under the username “roodandriddle”. It comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Bill Farish of Lane’s End Farm.

The auction proceeds will be designated to help fund disaster relief in the wake of tornadoes and severe storms in the state which last week killed 21 Kentuckians and many animals.

“The veterinarians and staff of Rood & Riddle are pleased to help with the Red Cross’s relief efforts in those parts of Kentucky that were devastated by the recent tornadoes,” said Dr. Thomas Riddle, co-founder of the hospital. “The auction of Zenyatta’s halter is an exciting opportunity to purchase a piece of history and at the same time support the many people whose lives have been affected so dramatically.”

Located in Lexington, Kentucky, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital is a full-service equine hospital established in 1986 as a referral center for horses requiring specialized medical and surgical care. Today Rood & Riddle is known and respected throughout the world for innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses.
