Stable Fire Kills Mini Horses and Donkey

A stable fire in northeastern Arkansas at the Spirit Ridge Therapeutic Riding Center has killed two miniature horses and a miniature donkey. Neighbors were able to free several horses in a nearby facility, but the three dead animals were trapped in the burning stable.

According to the website for the nonprofit organization, Spirit Ridge Therapeutic Riding Center provides several different types of therapeutic riding programs including hippotherapy and equine assisted learning along with programs for schools and community organizations.

The fire is currently under investigation, but no arson or foul play is suspected.
