Four Tennessee Walking Horses made the trip to the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma to compete in the 2011 Extreme Cowboy Association World Championships. Each of those horses, along with their owners, exhibitors and trainers, did much to make our breed proud. The event, which attracted top-notch extreme cowboy race competitors from across the country, was held November 3rd - 6th.
Competing in the Non-Pro Division, Tracy Pinson and Skyjacker’s Mountain High came in fourth after three days of very intense competition, making their hometown of Bushnell, Florida very proud. In the Youth Division, two Tennessee Walking Horses placed in the top five.
MeiLan Sim, who flew in from Hawaii and had never ridden her mount until the day before the event started, directed Texan At The Ritz to the Youth EXCA Reserve World Championship for owner Tracy Pinson.
Sadie Roberie of Shreveport, Louisiana, and her mare Painted Sparks steadily improved through each round and ultimately placed fourth.
Making their debut in the Ride Smart Division, Dennis Robinson and Threat’s Dark Reflection brought a very respectful 12th place finish back to Crossville, Tennessee.
Great all-around breed ambassadors, these four talented Tennessee Walking Horses showed the world exactly what makes our breed so special.
