The Inside Post Challenge for this summer and fall will include 14 races and starts this week.

The Inside Post Challenge for this summer and fall will include 14 races and starts this week with the Woodward Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. Other races in the Inside Post Challenge include such prestigious events as the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1), Champagne Stakes (G1), Woodbine Mile Stakes (Can-G1), and Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes (G1). Races in the Challenge are in a variety of divisions leading up to the Breeders’ Cup.

Participants will be asked to select the winners of 14 stakes races leading up to and including the Breeders’ Cup Ladies’ Classic (G1) and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). Scoring for the seasonal contest is based on the official finish position of each race, with ten points earned for first, three points for second, and one point for third. The individual who accumulates the most points over the 14 races will be awarded $100. The runner-up in the Inside Post Challenge will receive $50. The third-place finisher will receive $25.

To help contestants follow the action leading up to the Breeders’ Cup, Thoroughbred Times launched its comprehensive Road to the Breeders’ Cup website earlier in August, available at www.thoroughbredtimes.com, plus there will be video programs on the Thoroughbred Times website hosted by Times editors that preview and review all the major races for this winter and spring.
