Western Dressage is off to an active 2013, and is also making some exciting changes in its outreach and internal structure to better serve expanding membership.

The Executive Board members who attended the USEF Convention were delighted with the widespread enthusiasm for Western Dressage from all parts of the equine community.  Western Dressage will once again appear in the Morgan Horse Breed (MO) section of the USEF Rule Book with Rules mirroring the 2013 Rules for Western Dressage offered by WDAA.

Western Dressage tests created by WDAA will also be found on the USEF website and utilized in the Morgan Horse Breed.

Due to the overwhelming interest in Western Dressage, WDAA is also making some exciting changes in its outreach and internal structure to better serve our expanding membership.  A key element is the new working committee structure which will serve as a two way conduit for program development and delivery to our membership.

New committees encompass a number of areas including but not limited to; Alliance Partnerships, Education and Member Services. The WDAA reached out to its membership, Advisory Board and Founding Pioneers to populate these committees.

In addition, the Western Dressage Association® of America (WDAA) is excited to announce its recognition of another state affiliate, the Western Dressage Association® of Georgia.  The new Georgia Affiliate has already offered its first Western Dressage clinic and is looking forward to more upcoming events and happenings!  Equestrians in Georgia interested in exploring Western Dressage are encouraged to join them for their next meeting on February 24, 2013.

The WDAA state affiliate program helps bring opportunities for educational events, clinics and shows to interested equestrians within a geographical area.  Each state is supported by the WDAA with materials, promotion and a 501(c)3 group exemption; but has the freedom to customize programs and work in partnership with other local equine associations and businesses who share a belief in the mission of the WDAA.

Affiliates are organizing and forming in states across the nation.  If you are interested in taking part in activities in your area, the WDAA encourages you to contact them at affiliates@westerndressageassociation.org
